I have just got back from a fabulous week of skiing with my family over new year. We had a fantastic time at the Gran Baita and that was mostly due to the outstanding service and friendliness from the wonderful staff.
Enza the owner is the perfect host and together with her son Andrea made us feel like guests in their home. A big thank you also to Samuere, Henry, Flora and Maura and the rest of the staff. A special mention must go to Fausto the chef, who served up consistently high quality home cooked local food. Highlights of the holiday were the gala new year's dinner and the special dinner on our last night, when the the restaurant was turned into a magical grotto and Fausto brought out a whole roast suckling pig.
The hotel itself is not the most luxurious but is very cosy, with a nice friendly bar to relax in during the evenings. My mum summed up the whole experience perfectly saying that staying there was 'like coming home without having to do any chores'.
